Could you be our nextTravel consultant?

As a travel consultant, you’ll be meeting with our customers to help them book their dream holiday. You must have good communication skills and have good attention to detail to ensure you pick up every detail for your customer. You’ll be responsible for staying up to date with the latest travel news to make sure customers have the best deals.

Progress as a Assistant manager

As an assistant manager, you’ll support the branch manager in the day-to-day running of our travel branches. With your extensive knowledge, you’ll offer the best guidance to our customers and the other members of the team.

Inspire as aBranch manager

As a branch manager you’ll lead the team being an expert in your field with drive and commercial awareness. You need to motivate your team to ensure they achieve their best. You’ll be able to monitor your branch performance and work innovatively to support increased sales.

1992 – 1996
Completed Modern Languages degree at the University of Wolverhampton including a year studying in France and Germany.

1997– 2001
Worked for a bank in Leeds but felt I was moving away from my degree subject.

2001-2005
Saw an advert in the paper for Resort Representatives with Simply Travel – and got the job! Worked for Simply Travel on the island of Ithaca in Greece every summer and in their UK office in the winters.

2006-2008
I decided to return to the UK full time but wanted to stay in the travel industry. So, I joined The Villa Collection in Windsor as a reservations consultant. After this, I moved on to work for several specialist tour operators in London.

2008-2015
Joined Sail Croatia Adventures in Windsor as reservations consultant before becoming reservations manager.

2015
Joined Lincolnshire Co-op as travel consultant working at Sleaford and Carlton Centre branches.

2016
Applied for and got the assistant manager role at Horncastle Travel Branch.

2021
Became branch manager at Horncastle Travel Branch.

The next step

If you’re invited to an interview, you will need to pick a slot. Our interviews can take place by telephone, via Microsoft teams or face-to-face. You may be asked to complete a series of assessments which will help us find out more about you.

Prepare for an interview

You may need your application to hand, any questions and a notepad and pen to jot things down. Think about your career history and have a good read about Lincolnshire Co-op. We’ll be looking to hear examples from different areas of your life, both at work and outside, where you demonstrated problem-solving skills.

During the interview

Listen carefully to your interviewer, but don’t be afraid to ask questions. Remember, we’ve already seen your application and decided that we’re interested, so this is your chance to build on that positive start.
