We're proud to be an inclusive employer offering opportunties for all to develop and grow. As a co-operative, the community is at the heart of everything we do. We’re proud to work with local groups, charities, and businesses to build a stronger future. Together, we are providing and supporting valued services, helping to grow the local economy, caring for our health and wellbeing and looking after our local environment.
Our purpose is to bring together ideas, energy, and resources to make life better in our communities. Together we are:
We provide vital services directly to our local communities at each one of our outlets. All the services we offer help our communities thrive and grow. We also support businesses such as the tenants we rent property to as well as developments such as our Lincoln Science and Innovation Park.
We recycle all profits back into our communities by sharing dividend with our members and investing in local causes. With our Love Local range, we help small suppliers grow into a larger market, and we also use local businesses to help our firms and developments.
Mental and physical wellbeing impact every aspect of life. Our community pharmacies provide important services that support healthy lifestyles. We take our health services out into the community with initiatives such as our health pod, sessions in schools and our Community Champions health quarter.
We’re proud to recycle and use green energy, but our commitment goes further. We take a hands-on approach to improving our local environment. From renovating neglected shared spaces, to litter-picking and gardening, we’re always looking for ways to contribute to community environmental efforts.
Each of our colleagues is given two days paid volunteering to get out in the community and make a difference. This could be a one-off project such as gardening, cleaning or painting or for an ongoing initiative such as supporting local schools or individual charity support. We also run three libraries in our communities at Spilsby, Waddington and Holbeach.
Our Community Champions scheme is our way of giving back to local communities. We launched the scheme in 2013 and since then we’ve helped hundreds of local charities and communities, raising amounts from £200 to over £200,000.
In partnership with The Ramblers, we support more than 50 volunteer-run Wellbeing Walks across Lincolnshire and the surrounding counties. As a colleague you can get involved and support your local community.
Our colleagues love having fun while fundraising for their favourite charities. They get involved in activities such as sponsored walks, bike rides, and hosting fundraisers at our locations, to name a few. We encourage colleagues to suggest their own charity events and let us know of any opportunities to support worthy causes.
