About the role:

Our Support Services are always on hand to offer advice and guidance to colleagues across our business. We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled CAD Technician to join our team, responsible for developing and producing detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for our retail layouts. You will work closely with architects, designers, and project teams to translate design concepts into precise technical drawings. Your responsibilities will include revising layouts based on feedback, ensuring efficient space utilisation, and incorporating retail-specific elements such as point-of-sale systems, shelving, signage, and lighting into designs.

You'll collaborate with teams across the business to meet project deadlines and ensure that designs are both practical and ready for implementation. The role also requires ensuring that all designs comply with safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards. Additionally, you'll provide technical support to the project team during construction and installation phases, addressing any design-related queries or adjustments as needed.

For a more detailed role breakdown, please refer to the full job description which is available as a download on this page.

About You

To be considered for this role, you'll need to show us:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a CAD Technician, ideally focusing on retail or interior layouts.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or other relevant CAD software.
  • Knowledge of retail space planning, including customer experience and product placement strategies.
  • Familiarity with building regulations, health and safety standards and accessibility requirements for retail environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality technical drawings.
  • Ability to carry out and deliver measured building surveys of existing premises.

You’ll be able to collaborate cohesively with architects, designers, and project managers to ensure project success. You’ll demonstrate strong problem-solving skills that allow you to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines. You’ll show us excellent organisational skills, with the capability to manage multiple projects at once, ensuring tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.

Benefits:

In addition to working for a successful co-operative business, we offer our colleagues fantastic benefits, including:

  • 30 days annual leave (including bank holidays) (pro-rata)
  • Pension scheme (with up to 12% employer contributions)
  • Generous colleague discount rates across our family of businesses
  • Annual discretionary colleague bonuses to reward you for your hard work
  • Working schedules that are available four weeks in advance, giving you time to plan around your shifts
  • Free tea and coffee provisions for all colleagues during rest breaks at work
