About the role:

Our colleagues in IT provide an efficient and dependable support service to all of our business areas. A crucial part of our support services, this team use their creative knowledge to support, identify and develop systems and processes across all of our business areas. We're now looking for an IS Support Field Engineer to join our busy team.

In this role, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring smooth IT operations across our organisation. You’ll be responsible for configuring both software and hardware before they’re implemented, and for managing major incidents, addressing escalated IT issues to keep things running seamlessly. By troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software challenges, you’ll help our colleagues stay productive and connected.

You'll also analyse records and logs to spot trends, proactively addressing root causes to prevent future issues. Your tasks will include setting up new user accounts, configuring hardware, and creating and updating our knowledge base. You’ll guide team members through technical solutions, ensuring they feel confident and supported. Additionally, you’ll take ownership of regular maintenance, housekeeping, and implementing service improvements to enhance reliability.

You’ll collaborate with the Implementation and Projects Team, providing on-site and remote support to deliver new hardware and software, guiding colleagues on how to use these tools effectively. Managing communication around any service disruptions and liaising with third-party suppliers for escalated issues is another important aspect of your role.

About You

We're looking for someone resilient and adaptable, able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Ideally, you’ll have experience in a multi-site organisation or a retail setting and will feel confident discussing technical solutions in clear, straightforward language. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential, as you’ll frequently be guiding colleagues through technical resolutions.

You’ll be a proactive problem-solver with a passion for delivering excellent customer service and a keen interest in IT. Familiarity with applications like Azure and Remote Desktop software will be advantageous, and you’ll be comfortable diagnosing issues quickly to minimise impact on the business.

A full driving licence is essential, as you’ll use a Society-provided vehicle for business travel.

This is a great opportunity for someone who’s technically skilled, customer-focused, and motivated to make a positive impact on our IT operations across the Society.

Benefits:

  • 30 days annual leave (including bank holidays) (pro-rata)
  • Pension scheme (with up to 12% employer contributions)
  • Generous colleague discount rates across our family of businesses

  • Free tea and coffee provisions for all colleagues during rest breaks at work
