Our food stores are at the heart of our communities and our colleagues work hard each day to make sure our stores are clean and full, ready to serve our customers and members. Our Store Development team contribute to this, working with the food store teams to create new shopping experiences for our communities alongside managing the refurbishment of our existing stores.
As our Store Development Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of store interventions across our portfolio. This includes taking accountability for coordinating all aspects of planned activities, ensuring that materials, equipment and resources are in place at the right time and location to support timely implementation. You will establish and continually review plans and responsibilities across key teams, including Property, Commercial and local operations, to maintain a clear and effective way of working that promotes right-first-time outcomes.
You will oversee the day-to-day organisation of the store development team, setting expectations and ensuring high standards of performance, safety and customer service. As part of this role, you will prepare risk assessments, manage merchandising standards and ensure tasks align with project schedules. You will also take responsibility for budgeting, ordering equipment and maintaining fixtures and fittings across our stores. You will encourage a culture of development and teamwork, ensuring that your team is skilled in constructing and installing merchandising equipment safely and competently, while identifying opportunities to enhance sales and improve customer experiences.
