Gadsby's Packing Supervisor

As a Packing Supervisor you'll be leading and working alongside a skilled team to motivate and encourage, ensuring the production of high quality products is maintained. You'll be leading by example by setting a pace that inspires, working closely with your colleagues in the bakery and the wider team to contribute to the effective day-to-day running. You'll also ensure that colleagues complete necessary training to maintain the standard of our products as well as coaching and supporting colleagues through regular one-to-one meetings.

In this role you will:

• Motivate the team to ensure all items are picked and packed in a timely manner 
• Complete all relevant paperwork 
• Comply with all health and safety requirements and society policies 

You'll demonstrate an enthusiastic work ethic with high levels of attention to detail and ensure that everyone is always working to the highest health and safety standards.

Please be aware that this role includes operating machinery and working in the vicinity of very hot bakery ovens, so to apply you must be aged 18 years or over.

You’ll bring a Level 2 Food Safety qualification and a strong understanding of hygiene and food safety standards, particularly in chilled or ambient environments. With previous experience in a food packing or distribution setting, you’ll be confident in leading and co-ordinating a small team, ensuring smooth packing flow, accuracy, and traceability.

This role calls for excellent organisation and planning skills, alongside a calm and structured approach to managing deadlines, resolving minor issues, and adapting to changes in demand. You’ll have the confidence to lead team briefings, maintain accurate records, and liaise with other departments, while setting a reliable, supportive tone within the packing area. With a sharp eye for detail, you’ll ensure products are packed to specification, correctly labelled, and meet quality standards, while coaching your team to consistently deliver high performance.
