About the role:

Our Support Services are always on hand to offer advice and guidance to colleagues across our business. Our Commercial team are a part of this and now, we're seeking a Commercial Analyst to join us to support with establishing clear category strategies for our trading areas. 

As a Commercial Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting the Merchandising Manager by helping to establish a structured approach to commercial reviews. Your focus will be on sales, margin and wastage, ensuring range reviews align with the Co-op Group’s calendar.

You will take ownership of cyclical promotional compliance, oversee the accuracy of promotional data and report on performance metrics, identifying any issues and ensuring timely resolutions. Collaborating with suppliers and stakeholders, you will help develop new promotional space propositions, using both historical data and emerging trends to improve our customer offer.

Demand forecasting will be a crucial part of your role, ensuring the correct allocation of seasonal and promotional stock to maximise availability across our food stores.

About You

We are looking for someone with retail operations experience, particularly in supply chain and promotional execution. You should be confident in performance analysis, using insights to drive sales and margin improvements.

Strong relationship-building skills are essential, as you will be working closely with internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders. A proactive mindset and problem-solving ability will help you identify and resolve issues efficiently.

Proficiency in Office 365 applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) is required, along with a keen eye for detail, planning, and execution.
