About the role:

Our community pharmacies are at the heart of local life – helping people stay well, manage their health and feel supported when they need it most. As the largest Co-operative Pharmacy group, we’re proud to be more than just a place to collect prescriptions. From flu vaccinations and health advice to podiatry and wellbeing services, we’re a familiar and trusted presence in the communities we serve.

Our Relief Pharmacists play a vital role in keeping that care consistent and accessible across our network. By stepping into different pharmacies, you’ll help ensure every customer and member continues to receive the high-quality care they rely on.

In this role, you’ll work alongside friendly, dedicated teams who care deeply about the people they look after. You’ll build rapport quickly, bring confidence and continuity to each pharmacy you support, and help create an environment where both customers and colleagues feel genuinely welcomed and valued.

Your role will include:

  • Leading and supporting pharmacy teams to deliver a kind, efficient and patient-focused service

  • Providing essential pharmacy services and trusted health advice to our local communities

  • Checking prescriptions for accuracy and safety, and offering clear, reassuring guidance to patients on their medicines

  • Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the pharmacy, including record-keeping, stock control and the safe management of controlled drugs

If you’re someone who cares deeply about community healthcare, enjoys connecting with different teams and making a positive difference wherever you go, this could be a truly rewarding next step.

Full details of the role, including key responsibilities and requirements, can be found in the attached job description.

About You

We are looking for a professional and motivated pharmacist with a genuine passion for healthcare and a strong desire to grow in their role and career.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Essential: A master’s degree in pharmacy (MPharm) and current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)

  • Confidence in providing expert health advice and delivering the full range of advanced and enhanced services

  • A professional, approachable manner to build and maintain strong, dependable working relationships

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to role model high-quality face-to-face interactions for your team

  • Enthusiasm and drive to champion your own learning and development, while fostering a continuous learning culture within your team

  • Experience in leading and developing a team, with the ambition and determination to help your pharmacy achieve its targets

We are seeking dedicated pharmacists to join our supportive and friendly teams. Flexible contract options are available, ranging from 4 hours per week to full-time positions, giving you the opportunity to find the right fit for your lifestyle and career goals.

Benefits:

This is a great opportunity to develop your Pharmacy career and make a difference to the lives of our communities. In addition to working for a growing co-operative business, we offer our colleagues fantastic benefits, including:

  • Up to 34 days annual leave (pro-rata) including bank holidays
  • Pension scheme (with up to 12% employer contributions)
  • Generous colleague discount rates across our family of businesses
  • Reimbursement of GPHC fees in full
  • Access to a wide range of professional development opportunities
  • Discretionary performance-based bonuses
  • Wellbeing initiatives and community engagement opportunities.

We are an “Investors in People - Platinum” employer, meaning that we have been recognised as one of the country’s top employers, offering progression opportunities to all our colleagues. We work closely with the University of Lincoln School of Pharmacy, where some of our pharmacists are employed as Teacher Practitioners.
