About the role:

Fresh baking that brings our communities together

What if your next role helped create the products our customers look forward to every day?

Behind every loaf of bread, freshly baked pastry and sweet treat is a team that takes pride in quality, care and great customer service.

We're looking for a Bakery Assistant to join our Gadsby's Bakery team, helping prepare, bake and present delicious products while creating a welcoming experience for every customer who walks through our doors.

This is an opportunity to combine your passion for food with excellent customer service, working as part of a friendly team that takes pride in producing fresh bakery products every day.

Fresh products start with great people

Customers see beautifully presented displays, freshly baked products and friendly faces ready to help.

What sits behind that is careful preparation, attention to detail, excellent food safety standards and colleagues who work together to make sure everything is ready at the right time.

As a Bakery Assistant, you'll help prepare and bake products, maintain high standards of presentation and cleanliness, replenish stock throughout the day and deliver the outstanding customer service Gadsby's Bakery is known for.

No two days are the same. One day you could be preparing fresh bread for the morning rush, the next serving customers, creating attractive displays, monitoring stock levels or helping ensure the bakery remains clean, safe and ready for the next bake.

Creating quality from oven to counter

Of course, a passion for fresh food is important.

Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will help ensure every product meets our high standards.

But that's only part of the role.

You'll also build great relationships with customers, work closely with your colleagues and help maintain a safe, efficient and welcoming bakery environment.

You'll:

  • Prepare, bake and finish bakery products to the highest standards.
  • Deliver friendly, knowledgeable customer service and create a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Maintain attractive product displays and replenish stock throughout the day.
  • Follow food safety, hygiene and health and safety procedures at all times.
  • Help maintain a clean, organised and efficient bakery environment.
  • Support stock rotation and minimise waste through careful product management.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the bakery runs smoothly every day.

If you enjoy working with people, take pride in producing great food and want to be part of a team that helps our communities thrive, we'd love to hear from you.

You'll usually work Monday to Friday 6:00am–2:00pm. From time to time weekend shifts may be required but we'll always provide at least four weeks notice.

Please be aware that this role includes operating machinery and working in the vicinity of very hot bakery ovens, so to apply you must be aged 18 years or over.
