About the role:

Our Support Services are always on hand to offer advice and guidance to colleagues across our business. Our Retail Operations team are a part of this and now, we're seeking a Buyer - Goods for Resale (GFR) which will crucial role in the success of our retail operations by selecting and purchasing merchandise that aligns with our target market and business goals. 
 
In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating terms, and ensuring a diverse and profitable product assortment. You will conduct thorough research and analysis of market trends, consumer preferences and competitor activities to identify opportunities for product selection.
 
Regularly reviewing sales performance and customer feedback will enable you to adjust product offerings accordingly, ensuring customer satisfaction and optimising sales potential. You will also identify, establish and maintain relationships with new suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors to expand our product portfolio.

About You

To be considered for this role, you'll need to show us:

  • Proven experience as a Retail Buyer or in a similar role within the retail industry.
  • Experience in a retail operations environment with an understanding of the supply chain is desirable.
  • CIPS qualification is desirable.
  • Experience of legal compliance and GSCOP regulations.
  • An understanding of market trends.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with a strong ability to build relationships.
  • A commercial mindset and the ability to draw insight from data and communicate findings in an engaging way.
  • Experience in improving business performance and budget adherence.
  • A flexible and resilient approach to work, with the ability to react quickly and delver results.
    Proficient in using Microsoft Office and relevant industry software.
You'll be able to show us excellent verbal and written communication skills, enjoy working with people and be able to work in a confident manner to deliver results. You'll be organised, methodical and able to maintain accurate records, demonstrate good time management with the ability to work under pressure and prioritise as necessary.
