About the role:

Our Support Services are always on hand to offer advice and guidance to colleagues across our business. Our Procurement and Sustainability team are a part of this and now, we're seeking a Buyer - Goods Not For Resale (GNFR) which will crucial role in the procurement process, focusing on acquiring goods and services that are essential for the business but are not intended for resale.  
 
The role demands a deep understanding of the organisation's non-production procurement needs, cost management and supplier relationships which will lead you to develop and implement category strategies to optimise costs and ensure timely availability of goods and services.
 
Identifying, evaluating, and selecting suppliers capable of meeting GNFR needs will be essential. You will negotiate contracts, terms and conditions to secure favourable agreements, ensuring optimal value for our Society. Maintaining strong relationships with existing suppliers and exploring opportunities for new partnerships will be critical for success. You will also create and develop relationships with key internal stakeholders to realize the benefits of cross-functional collaboration.

About You

To be considered for this role, you'll need to show us:

  • Proven experience in procurement, with a focus on Goods not for Resale.
  • CIPS qualification is desirable.
  • An analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Familiarity with relevant procurement software and tools.
  • Knowledge of UK procurement regulations and compliance.
  • Detail-oriented and organised.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with a strong ability to build relationships.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Adaptability to changing business needs and priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
You'll be able to show us excellent verbal and written communication skills, enjoy working with people and be able to work in a confident manner to deliver results. You'll be organised, methodical and able to maintain accurate records, demonstrate good time management with the ability to work under pressure and prioritise as necessary.
