About the role:

Our community pharmacies play a key part in caring for the health and wellbeing of our customers and members. As the largest Co-operative Pharmacy group, our pharmacies offer so much more than just exceptional customer service! From prescriptions and flu vaccines to podiatry and sports therapy, we’re passionate about looking after the health needs of our patients. 

As a PCN Pharmacist your duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Prioritising patient care, seeing patients with one or multiple medical problems where medicine optimism is required, and undertaking clinical medical reviews to make recommendations to the Senior PCN Pharmacist. 
  • Working closely with GPs, and other practicing heath care professionals where appropriate, answering any patient medicine questions they have.
  • Undertaking clinical audits of prescribing in areas directed by the GPs, communicating results and implementing changes.
  • Managing the repeat prescribing reauthorisation process by clinical review of patient requests in line with review dates, and flagging those needing review. 
  • Training and developing the primary healthcare teams on therapeutics and medicines optimism. 
  • Ensuring legal compliance within the pharmacy, reviewing labels, doses, and securing inventories-controlled drugs in line with regulations. 
  • Offering health-screening including blood-pressure monitoring, diabetes screening flu and other vaccine administration.

About You

We are looking for a professional and driven pharmacist who has a genuine passion about health care and who is keen to develop in their role and career. Additionally, you’ll need to have:

  • Essential: A master’s degree in pharmacy (MPharm) and you’ll also need to be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • Confidence in providing expert health advice, and the full range of advanced and enhanced services 
  • A professional and approachable manner to build and maintain dependable working relationships
  • Excellent communication skills, able to be a role model for your team in delivering face-to-face interactions to a high standard
  • Enthusiasm and drive to champion your own learning and development, and grow a continuous learning culture within your team to support their career growth
  • Experience of leading and developing a team, with drive and ambition to ensure your pharmacy meets its targets.
