  • About the role:

  • More than arranging funerals – we're here when people need us most

What if your next role gave you the opportunity to guide families through one of life's most important moments with compassion, care and understanding?

At Lincolnshire Co-op, our Funeral Services are about far more than arranging funerals.

We're here to provide compassionate, professional support to families when they need it most. Every conversation is an opportunity to offer reassurance, guidance and kindness, helping people make informed decisions during one of the most difficult times in their lives.

As a Funeral Arranger, you'll be the trusted person families turn to from their very first conversation through to the day of the funeral. You'll take the time to understand their wishes, coordinate every detail with care, and ensure every farewell reflects the life being remembered.

Meaningful work with variety every day

Every family is different, which means every day brings something new.

One moment you could be meeting with a family to discuss funeral arrangements, and the next liaising with celebrants, crematoria, florists or local authorities to ensure every detail is in place. You'll prepare important documentation, coordinate services, answer questions with empathy and professionalism, and provide ongoing support throughout the funeral journey.

This is a role for someone who combines outstanding organisation with genuine compassion, takes pride in getting every detail right and remains calm, supportive and professional during emotional situations.

    What you'll be doing

    As a Funeral Arranger, you'll:

    • Meet with families to plan personalised funeral services, listening with empathy and guiding them through every step.
    • Coordinate funeral arrangements from the first enquiry through to the day of the funeral, ensuring every detail is carefully managed.
    • Liaise with colleagues and external partners, including celebrants, crematoria, florists and local authorities, to deliver seamless services.
    • Prepare and process essential documentation while maintaining accurate records and handling confidential information with care.
    • Support families by explaining funeral options, memorials, aftercare services and pre-paid funeral plans with sensitivity and professionalism.
    • Help ensure every funeral reflects the wishes of the family while delivering the exceptional standards of care Lincolnshire Co-op is known for.

Please refer to the downloadable job description available on this page for full details of the role.

    • Is organised, pays close attention to detail and enjoys making sure everything runs smoothly.

    • Works well both independently and as part of a close-knit team, always treating people with dignity and respect.
