Purpose and approach

Our purpose is to bring together ideas, energy and resources to make life better in our communities. Here’s what that means in real life.

Services people rely on

You'll be part of a team that keep vital local services going in the local community. We also support local businesses, including tenants we rent property to, and developments across Lincolnshire.

Looking after the places we share

A greener community is about more than recycling and using green energy. It's hands-on, practical action. That could mean renovating shared spaces, litter-picking, or helping with community gardening. If it makes the area better for people living nearby, it matters.

Keeping money in the local economy

The profits we make go back into the community through cashback for our members and support for good causes.

When you see our Love Local range, you're seeing small producers getting a bigger platform.

And from builders to trades, we use local businesses on our property projects where possible. This helps keep jobs and spend in the community.

Supporting health and wellbeing

Health affects everything, from confidence, to family life, to how you feel each day. Our community pharmacies offer services that support healthier lives.

Support doesn't stop at the pharmacy door - we also offer support through our community health checks.

Volunteering

You can do a full day or give a group ongoing support.

It's your time to do something that feels good. And it counts as part of your job.

  • Helping out on Wellbeing Walks across Lincolnshire and nearby counties with The Ramblers
  • Supporting a Community Cuppa event to help people connect
  • Joining in with green space projects, like tidy-ups and planting
  • Backing local groups supported through Community Champions fundraising
  • Lending a hand at a local food bank
  • Supporting employability work in schools, like careers sessions or mock interviews

Community Champions

Fundraising is part of life at Lincolnshire Co-op.

You can help local causes through Community Champions fundraising.

Our scheme has supported hundreds of charities and community groups with awards from £200 to over £200,000.

Colleagues get involved in things like sponsored walks, bike rides and in-store events. And if you've got an idea for a fundraiser, we'll help you make it happen.

Career progression

Whether you have big ambitions or taking a small next step, you’ll have chances to learn, build your skills, and grow more confident in your role.
